Well, that's okay, because that's why we bought a home with two kitchens.

I'm sorry, but who does not love Ikea?! It's one of my favourite places - how sad is that. Every time I go I have to reenact 500 Days of Summer (this time we went there actually WAS a Chinese family in the bathroom!), get my meatball fix, and of course come away with a load of 'stuff' that I didn't realise I actually needed until I found it after following the yellow arrows. Oh and didn't actually end up getting what we went there for!

I was feeling a little nautical when getting dressed this morning, as I'm sure you can tell by my sailor-esque get up! The coat was a sale find from H & M a few years back, and the bag is vintage from eBay (I like the fact it perfectly matches my brogues). I'm also wearing the 'Mom' shorts from Topshop - the first pair I have bought from there which actually cover my bum! And yes, another stripy tshirt, it's an addiction I just can't help myself.

Conker Collecting

It's starting to feel very autumnal - especially as I live behind a wood, so looking out my bedroom window means a sea of brown leaves and slightly bare looking trees. Luckily it's not too nippy yet, so I can still get away with just a fur stole wrapped around my shoulders (this was from H & M a few years back now). Saying that my ankles were a little on the chilly side though! And I just had to show off my lovely new 'conker' coloured doctors bag from Asos. It's a great size, and comes with a long strap as well, what more could you ask for!

Waiting for Orla

If there is one collection I look forward to seeing most each season, it is Orla Kiely. The beautiful clothes are one thing, but the presentations are just something else. She topped last seasons Mad Men esque typing pool of secretaries with a Suzy Bishop inspired safari scene, complete with beret's and butterfly catching.

After watching the show I stumbled on this pastel pretty on Topshop. I've seen a lot of pink coats floating about, but as lovely as they were wasn't sure how much wear I would get out of them. As well as being on trend now, I know that I'll be wearing this all spring - I love the ladylike cut and blue/pink mix. Paired with these adorable shoes with their ankle strap and neat little heel (extra height is always a winner), and this turnlock handbag, how could I not pin my hair up in a beehive to complete the look!

See you next season Orla!

3 Ways with Pinafores

It feels strange to think that this is the fourth September now, where I haven't had to get ready to go 'back to school'. Having it engrained for so long into a yearly routine though, still makes me long for new pens, shiny shoes, and fresh notepads - as well as a desire to dress in my most 'uniform' inspired outfits. Luckily for me pinafores have had a comeback, and it is socially acceptable to dress like a 10 year old.

Pinafore numero uno, is not actually a pinafore dress but a sun dress from American Apparel. A perfect summer to autumn transitional layering technique, popping a simple oxford shirt underneath and then throwing on a vintage navy blazer et voila!

Nothing says pinafores have to be dresses, and I like how this is a much more of a casual take. Perfect now with a cropped tee, add a chunk cardigan and wooly tights as the weather starts getting chillier.

I'm so happy that my hair is FINALLY long enough to pile up in heidi plaits, it's such a simple style, especially when having a bit of a rubbish hair day. This is a bit of a cheekier way to wear your pinafore, and to tone down the ten old vibes. This low sided pinafore is perfect for work, but also for adding a sheer blouse and showing off a modest amount of skin, cheers Topshop, win win.
