I would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party.

I don't think I've made it very obvious on this blog, but I have quite the underwear obsession. My knicker drawer is quite literally overflowing, so much so that it will no longer close. But I just couldn't resist this set. 

From good old M & S, it's part of Rosie Huntington Whitely's range, and although I may not be so keen on the model she sure can design a pretty pair of undies. Usually these sets are slightly too overpriced for my liking, but I was lucky enough to spot this one on the sale rack - and what do you know both top and bottoms my size! Not only that when I got them to the till, they had been reduced further and I ended up only paying £7 in total. Needless to say I was a very happy bunny!

The Hand

David Bowie is Watching You

After being ill for most of the week, I'm venturing out and off to London on this sunny evening for the 'David Bowie is...' exhibition at the V & A. I'm slightly in love with this Zara dress (I know, I know another cream dress), it fits like a glove  and with these wooden heeled shoes I picked up in their sale, I think this may just be the most perfect summer outfit ever.

Saturday Rebellion

On horrendously hot days like today, I can think of nothing better than simply sitting in the sun and drinking cold beer. I joined my brother and his friends on a trip to the local brewery, who were having an open weekend to raise money for charity. Unfortunately the fact that I was severely hungover and extremely tired did not bode well with my camera today, hence only the few pictures... 

I think I must have been an Eskimo in a former life, because even in just this Topshop boat print sun dress and heeled sandals I was BOILING! The boys however - completely unfazed of course.

Oh Canada!

So instead of doing the usual 'Happy 4th July!' I thought I'd go for a more appropriate day for me, which is Canada Day! As I've got family living an hour outside Toronto, and my brother having recently come back from visiting, I just had to celebrate Fete du Canada with some authentic Canadian maple syrup and pancakes. And to feel even more patriotic I donned my red and white American Apparel striped skirt and cute lacy collared white Topshop blouse.

Undercover Musings

I have been quite the busy bee these last couple of weeks! 

With my job it's sort of a given around fashion week that things go a bit mental (I work at a hair and make up agency), but what with the mens collections showing in London this season, we didn't have quite the usual craziness of booking flights to Milan for everyone - phew! 

I also got to go to my first fashion show, which was just as incredible as I imagined! Our agency represent the amazing Wendy Rowe, who as well as being make up artist to the stars, is the Artistic Consultant for Burberry Beauty. This means that she heads the make up team at the shows, and kindly invited us to watch the SS14 menswear show. I've popped a couple of pictures on my instagram, but it really was just so fantastic! 

In other news, my brother came back from Canada this week - yay! The lucky bugger has been travelling for the last three months, from Toronto to Ontario, Montreal, Quebec and even squeezing in a trip across the border to New York, I am extremely jealous! 

So yes, after these busy couple of weeks, I felt I deserved a bit of a chilled out Sunday, with a read of the new Frankie accompanied by an extremely yummy smoothie.

Populaire

My sister and I went to see Populaire at the cinema today. It was such a lovely thing to do on a Sunday, sitting in a dark room as the beautiful French language played about our ears. The film itself was also quite wonderful, in particular the enviably stunning fifties dresses.

To get me in the mood I popped on this full skirted cream shirt dress from Topshop that I got last summer, along with my new heeled sandals (I think they may be glued to my feet) and some mustard socks (sandals and socks - oh no!) and a navy Zara cardi to keep off those cinema air conditioning chills. 

I love these little videos below that I found on nowness.com! They have such a fifties feel, but with a little bit of cheekiness added in for good measure.

Blue, Blue Electric Blue

Luckily the rain just about stayed at bay today, with only a few showers here and there. Which of course meant more time wandering along the sea front taking pictures (though not getting drenched this time), eating ice creams and playing in the arcade. I couldn't resist coordinating myself with the beach huts, this china print dress from Topshop just matched so perfectly! I teamed it again with my new brogues and little ankle socks, and this map print bag from Urban Outfitters. 

I may not have gone abroad, or anywhere particularly fancy but it sure did feel good to just relax and do not a lot for a few days!

Just your typical British holiday..

So we turned up to Bournemouth in torrential rain, yet it still seemed necessary to have a good walk along the seafront. As you can see I got VERY wet, perhaps a denim jacket was not the best choice in waterproof clothing... 

However saying that my new Asos brogues were excellent in keeping my feet dry! Aren't they lovely? I was also very glad of my wooly H&M jumper, a shirt dress alone is certainly not enough against those sea breezes (ahem gale force winds more like). 

It was worth the walk though, as we have rented a beach hut for the few days we are down, conveniently placed right next door to the world famous Harry Ramsdens fish and chip shop! We used to come here every summer when we were kids, and it still tasted as good as I remembered. I don't know why, but fish and chips are always so much tastier when you eat them at the seaside!

Off to the seaside!

I'm off on my jollies for the bank holiday! Of course the forecast is rain the whole time (typical English weather!) but I'm still looking forward to a few days by the sea. I've packed a few dresses, a pair of shorts, some tshirts and of course a nice thick jumper to layer up and help stay warm! Oh and there's an indoor pool and spa at our hotel, hence the bikini ;-)

Strawberries and Cream

Today was Mumma Izzard's birthday, and boy was it a scorcher! I popped on this patterned cotton dress that I got from Topshop last summer and my new heeled clogs, and we headed out for a stroll in the country. We also nipped in to the local garden centre for a spot of lemonade and picked up this freshly baked Victoria sponge for tea, it was so delicious I had to have two slices!
