A Camel is a Horse Designed by a Committee...
So I did it - I went and got myself a fedora. I'm still not quite sure if I can pull it off - I love the idea of hats and they always seem to look okay when trying them on in the shop, but then I tend to get them home and just can't seem to make them work. I am determined to persevere with this because people that do always look so darned cool.
I teamed it with my well loved camel coat, a black Uniqlo polo neck (it's still bloody freezing so thermals are very necessary), and this lovely Topshop skirt I picked up the other day. I can't wait to strip off the tights and wear it barelegged in summer with sandals, but for now these horsey loafers just about do the trick.

Burberry
After an extremely long weekend of working very hard, it all paid off - and the reward could not have been better. I was lucky enough to go the Burberry men's show a few seasons back, which was obviously amazing, so as you can imagine I was over the moon to have the opportunity to attend the women's show this season.
The incredible show space in Hyde Park was completely filled to bursting, and we were running late, which meant a place standing at the back with only a view between heads, but oh what a view. Mr Kane had really outdone himself this season (as with every season really) and the collection was stunning. Hand painted bags, personalised shawls for every model, and all complemented by beautiful fresh faced glows and rosy hues thanks to the talented Wendy Rowe, set to the most fantastic live sound track including the almost deafeningly loud Paloma Faith. Well, it definitely took a little while to come down from cloud 9 after that... Though the sixty emails waiting for me on returning to the office helped reality sink in a little faster.

Kiss me Quick
Well what do you know, it was Valentine's day and my (imaginary) boyfriend forgot to buy me a gift... so felt that I should just get myself one in the form of this gorgeous little Lulu Guinness. I've wanted one of these babies for as long as I can remember, they're just so cheeky, and can't ever imagine them going out of style as they must bring a smile to every single pair of chops that see them. Today I was meant to be attending a few Fashion Week presentations but alas duty calls, and I'm going to be working all weekend instead. Fashion just ain't as fun as you'd imagine, but oh well. I dragged myself away from my laptop for a little while so I could snap what I would have worn had I gone (don't worry, iphone was close by for constant email refresh). This outfit is nothing too spectacular, but what with my new clutch, and this Warehouse dogtooth mesh overlay, 50s style skirt, a simple white oxford jazzed up with a diy chiffon bow, some black pointed heels, and a dash of red lipstick seemed like all that was needed.

Brighton Rock
Bright and early this morning I hopped on the train down to Brighton to visit my lovely ladies Emily and Kerry for a spot of shopping in the lanes, and what turned out to be a lot of eating as well! Emily has only just moved down, so we were taking the opportunity to put Kerry's vast knowledge to good use, and have her show us the best places to pick up vintage, homewares and grub.
She did not disappoint! We could have spent a small fortune between us in Snoopers Paradise and Beyond Retro, as well as many other of her secret spots, but alas we were good and instead saved our penny's for more important luxuries (ice cream and photo booths).
It wasn't a hot day by any means, but we somehow managed to dodge the showers and the sun peeking through tempted us into Gelato Gusto, leading us to the hardest decision of our lives - they have so many incredible sounding flavours, how are we meant to pick just one! I ended up with Cherry cola (AMAZING), Kerry went with Gingerbread crunch, and Emily the delicious Ecuadorian dark chocolate.
After more wandering, and plenty more giggling it was time to catch the train home. I'll be back before you know it mis amigos!

Meow
This cute lil number was a present from my brother for Christmas - how long ago does that seem! Anyway in an attempt to not let the grey days get me down, this was a good compromise to my mood with it's skater style and kitty pattern. I also picked up these buckled monk shoes in H & M this week, I really like the brogue details on the toe, and the masculine edge they give this outfit.

It's SO Fluffy
Well I did it, after months of telling myself that I did not need a pink coat, and I would never wear it, here we are. And I bloomin' love it. It's fluffy and just the right amount of pink that it doesn't make me want to throw up when I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror. Oh and it goes GREAT with this Topshop gingham skirt. This was my reasoning to my Mother's raised eyebrows at another coat. I'm trying my best to compromise with the weather in the hope that spring may start appearing soon, but until then thermal layers are a must. Also I have finally found my dream pair of loafers, in Asos's Musical leather beauties - they're music to my ears anyway that's for sure, there's even a glimmer of a smile in these pictures!

Grey Day
All this horrible grey weather is really starting to affect my outfit choices, not to mention my mood. Grey is the most befitting colour to match this in the form of this cropped jumper that I picked up in Topshop's sale, accompanied with a side order of black Joni's (the most flattering jeans ever). Sun where are you? I'm bored of luggin' this big ol' coat around.

Chelsea, Chelsea
Winter come at me - I am fully ready for you. I spent yesterday in London getting absolutely peed on by the rain, however all was fine as I was in my new Zara duffle, which is the cosiest coat you can imagine. It does upset me a little that it doesn't have toggle fastenings, but it does have a beaut tweed lining, so I guess I shouldn't be so picky. My Kanken mini is also my new best friend - it fits my camera in plus everything else that must be lugged with me 24/7 minus the backache which usually comes with carrying all this. My cosy cropped aran knit, Topshop devore blouse, cord AA circle skirt and these beyond perfect chelsea boots also from Topshop, not only did a great job at keeping me warm, I then managed to transform them for an impromptu night of dancing. This may have been helped along with a few cocktails convincing me that a tied up blouse (Britney style) looked okay, but we'll just ignore that.
